    SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash.--23-year-old Jesse L. Brown is behind bars after detectives say they believe he assaulted a four-year-old girl. Brown says he's innocent of choking his ex-girlfriend's daughter, but his ex-girlfriend says otherwise. According to court documents, the girl had bruises on her neck and jaw.

(AP) - Investigators say it appears the driver of a large box truck fell asleep before the truck crossed the center line of a rural central Washington highway, colliding with a car and a school bus.The crash Thursday morning killed the car's driver and sent dozens of students to a hospital for evaluation.Washington State Patrol Trooper Darren Wright says the truck driver was cited in a collision that caused an injury in the same area just over a year ago.

    SPOKANE, Wash. - The family of a woman who died after a city of Spokane truck ran her over is speaking out.53-year-old Stephanie Meier died Tuesday in the hospital after she was hit while sleeping on the side of the road near S. Geiger Blvd. and S. Lewis St. in west Spokane.
